Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an Architectural Historian Intern to join our Atlanta, GA team. Key responsibilities include conducting field surveys for historic properties and preparing technical reports regarding historic properties in support of transportation, planning, and land development projects.

This position will consist of extensive travel to sites across Georgia in various weather conditions with fieldwork tasks subject to project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cultural resource identification and evaluation surveys for public and private sector clients under the guidance of an experienced historian

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-orientated with the ability to effectively convey technical information
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with guidance
  • Excellent research, writing, editing, and photography abilities

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors or master’s degree in Architectural History or closely related discipline
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite is preferred
  • Experience with GIS software is preferred
  • A valid US driver’s license
